It’s Fluffy!
Gabriel Iglesias: The Fluffy Movie is available on Blu-ray and DVD today from Universal Home Entertainment!
I’ve been a fan of Iglesias’ comedy since 2011, and in my honest opinion, he remains one of my favorite comedians working today. It’s hard to resist his lovable personality, he has something of a gravitational pull, and I love it.
In the vein of stand-up comedy film classics like Eddie Murphy: Raw, Gabriel Iglesias brings his trademark comedy style to the big screen. As a critic, this is actually a very hard “film” to review. Stand-up concert films are created solely for the fans of the performer to enjoy. Nothing more. The fans are who will pay to see it, non-fans will skip it. No harm done. But of course, in this case, I will speak as a fan. The Fluffy Movie is very funny, but certainly not as gut-bustlingly hysterical as his smaller scale specials. However, this isn’t a bad thing.
What makes The Fluffy Movie work is that has a more personal performance from Gabriel. He’s like your best friend telling you how he’s feeling and how his day was. But of course, throwing in a joke or two to keep your interest.
If you’re a fan of ‘Fluffy’ then there’s no doubt that The Fluffy Movie will satisfy your addiction. I do feel that most hardcore fans may be disappointed that the Blu-ray is bare-bones. No supplementary material whatsoever.
